I reckon most of us have wanted a Polaroid camera at some point or other, since they allow us to snap and print photos instantly. While smartphones and their ability to share photos instantly online can be considered the ‘instant-cameras’ of the present, it was only a matter of the Polariod concept would be updated to meet modern technology.
Enter the (surprisingly) sleek next-generation, developed by Socialmatic in collaboration with Polaroid which comes in the form of a fully digital camera with all the connectivity options you would expect from the modern smartphone or camera such as Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth – all on top of the trademark printout feature.
Equipped with a 14MP front facing lens, it features a 4.3 inch-touchscreen for easy navigation, an Android operating system, and allows you to apply a whole lot of filters… speaking of which, it is modeled after the iconic Instagram logo, and comes with a rear facing 2MP camera for you selfie addicts out there.
Sounds good? Well, you’ll have to hold your horses as this nifty new gadget is not expected to be available until 2014… which is not all that far off come to think of it.
