Pretty much every electronic device has a touch-screen these days, and it has changed the way many of us work and interact for the better. While touch-screen technology has in fact been in existence since the 80s, the latest offering by Ubi Interactive reminds us that we’re still pretty much still at the tip of the iceberg and that the best is still yet to come.
In a nutshell, what’s now available for just US$149 in its most basic version is software that allows you to turn any surface into a touchscreen surface – via Windows 8, a 3-D Kinect sensor, and any overhead projector.
What’s more, for those that are touch-screen fanatics, an ‘enterprise’ version is available for US$1,499, and this comes with a whopping 100-inch display, and a further 20 activated touchpoints which go so far as to recognise the popular pinch, stretch and swipe gestures.
Yup, we’re now that much closer to those awesome sci-fi screens in Tony Stark’s lab!
