You want to escape it all when you go on holiday – the stress of the daily grind, the hustle and bustle of city life, and pollution of all kinds. However, if there’s one thing that many of us can’t escape, try as we may, it’s our allergies. It can be incredibly frustrating when you’ve paid a handsome fee for your dream getaway, only to find yourself down with a severe bout of sinusitis, despite having the most beautiful panoramic view of lush greenery and azure blue sea at your doorstep.
Aiming to deliver your dream getaway minus the unnecessary headache of allergies flaring up, Crystal Cruises plans to convert 70 of its staterooms into hypoallergenic suites – which will be offered at no additional cost. To achieve this feat, the refurbished rooms will be deep-cleaned and subjected to ozone shock treatment to remove all bio-films, dirt, bacteria, germs, viruses and odours.
Furthermore, as of November 27, the rooms will be equipped with air purification systems, allergy-friendly bedding, and bacteriostatic barriers will be applied to surfaces such as light switches, TV screens, countertops and artwork which will prevent micro-organism growth for two years.
