Just a few months after the recently concluded Malaysia Social Media Week (MSMW) 2013, the flame and excitement over the week-long annual gathering continues. It has no sign of even withering. With this said, the Malaysia Social Media Week (MSMW) 2014 Soft Launch which attracted hundreds of guests, enthusiastic to have a sneak peek at the third episode of the Malaysia Social Media Week, was staged.
The soft launch which was held on 19 September 2013 was held at Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur from 4:00p.m to 6:00p.m. United with the theme “Engage, Educate and Entertain”, the event primarily intended to introduce its partners, supporters, speakers and as well promote-one of Twitter’s most trending hashtags- #MSMW 2014.
The event was organized by the Malaysia Social Media Chambers (MSMC) and co-organized by My Events International. The Guest of Honour who also graced the event was Yang Berhormat Dato’ Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Minister of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia. Also present at the soft launch was Shahul Hameed Shaik Dawood, President and Founder of the Malaysia Social Media Chambers (SMC), along with several Foreign Missions, Government Ministries, Associations, MSMW Ambassadors, Chamber Advisors, Members of the press and as well as invited guests.
The MSMW 2014 soft launch commenced with an opening remark by Mr. Shahul who later on introduced the Partners and Speakers of the event. Yang Berhormat Dato’ Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Minister of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia also conveyed his speech where he stressed the importance of embracing such a noteworthy event, and the likes, that aim at re-branding our perceptions of social media. He also encouraged the public to take advantage and grab the prospects embedded in social media.
Admittedly, one of todays most top notable highlights occurring globally are meetings and activities associated with social media. Social media, as a whole, has positioned itself to be the powerhouse for most businesses and as well personal objectives. It has become an enhancement for organizations or individuals who want to take their business to the next level.
Additionally, with the world of social media, companies and individuals are no longer limited to driving their missions only through traditional tactics, but rather are now opened to more and widely accepted avenues such as LinkedIn and Twitter. Social media tools are also seen to allow most campaigners control the growth of their businesses rather than sit back and simply hope that their tweets or posts go viral and eventually gain recognition.
